Title/Image Description WG BG
07 Ghost
Barsburg Empire’s Military Academy is known for training elite soldiers with special abilities. Teito Klein passes the final exam, but suddenly finds himself an escaping convict from the empire. Aizen: Oh yeah, I liked the way the manga started out….then I felt like it was drifting towards yaoi.
Purelyshin: SOLD! NOT SOLD! D; AIZEN NO LIEKS

I have a long standing tradition that if a show looks well animated and gives me the gay vibe, I have to check it out. That’s how I found Death Note after all. Awe snap! Anyway, I watched the trailer below and oh man, were all of the makings of an almost outright shonen-ai show there. This is going to be so much fun to blog and by fun I mean epic subtle gay.

Eden of East
Three months after the failed terrorist attack “Carless Monday”, Saki Morimi, a young woman in the USA on her graduation trip, runs into trouble outside of the White House. She is saved by Akira Takizawa, a mysterious naked man without his memory, owning only a gun and a mobile phone stored with 8,200 million yen.

Morita senpai! Oh wait, this isn’t Honey and Clover. Hmmm another anime with ties to America….how unusual. I suppose that if a show starts out with a mysterious naked man it has to have potential. In all seriousness though, this show does have some really good starting credentials. Kenji Kamiyama (director of ghost in the shell) has written his own script for this one and will be overseeing the process. Also, we have character designs by Chika Umino (as if you couldn’t tell from looking) and animation by production I.G. Eden of the East will be premiereing on Noitamina so amp up the durama factor.
Full Metal Alchemist 2
Edward and Alphonse Elric try to revive their mother using Alchemy, and fail horrifyingly. Years later, Edward becomes a “State Alchemist” and with Alphonse, the two brothers set out to find a way to restore the damage done by their crime.

I’m a FMA fan but in all truth, I only would enjoy watching this. Sure the plot in FMA I was alright and that some people feel that the ending was crap, but I enjoyed it. In all honesty, this show amazed me to no ends as a kid. I think it still will. What I wouldn’t want see, though, is if they go back to the same plot before the end of Season 1. It would really suck because although I saw what happened to Ed, I would like to see what happened to Al when he is “revived”.

Alright, my romance with FMA began senior year of High School when my bf showed me a few episodes. The series really had a profound impact on me and to this day I still have emotions regarding the show. Ok fine, I loved it enough to make a decent AMV ….now that’s love. I will absolutely be watching this show 100%. However, Aizen is right in that it might be better to sit this one out for blogging…however, I think that we might crack and end up making a few rogue posts on specific topics. Agreed. Only things which catches my attentions… such as foreshadows, symbols, etc.

Hanasakeru Seishounen
The story surrounds a political mystery involving a small middle-eastern country. A powerful industrialist directs his daughter to pick a husband from three chosen candidates. They enter her life, impressing her with their uniqueness, and they all leave an outstanding impression on her.

Ok this is a total wild card for me. I have a feeling that it’s going to be very effeminate and full of romance cliches. However, due to the presence of ovaries in my abdomen I have on occasion enjoyed these types of shows when well done. Yes….I watched NANA all the way through. So, I’m going to wild card this one with absolutely no expectations. This looks like it comes with a side of Fushigi Yuugi, but male harem animes are few and far between so bravo Studio Pierrot in taking us ladies into considderation. Fushigi Yuugi rocked. I couldn’t stop watching it. But do I want to watch something which reminds me of them? Eh… not really…
Hayate no Gotoku 2
Continuation of the first series.
Hayate’s parents sell him to the yakuza to pay off their gambling debts. To avoid this, Hayate kidnapped a girl to hold ransom, but his attempt is misunderstood as a confession of love. Now, this girl appointed him as her butler to pay off his debt.

My favorite show. Yes, MY FAVORITE F-ING SHOW. ‘Cause it’s filled with loli and a dumb butler who is f-ing awesome. I can’t wait to see Hayate’s first girlfriend (if they ever show it) since she’s f-ing hawt. If anything, blogging this might get me back on my feet to finish blogging season 1. I mean, I did finish blogging it but I didn’t fill up the episods I skipped. Regardless, I can’t wait to watch more comedy/romance/action.

I didn’t get a chance to ever get into Hayate no Gotoku unfortunately…I was too busy trying to graduate from college. However, I have seen some of the highlights and really think I’ll get around to viewing it one of these days. However, for this season it’s pretty much a definitive “no” for blogging.
Natsu no Arashi
From the creator of School Rumble. It centers on a boy named Hajime Yasaka who meets an older high school girl named Sayako “Arashi” Arashiyama in an old town coffee shop. “Arashi” hyappens to have a secret that Hajime learns one fateful summer vacation.

This is another wild card that I threw out there. Natsu no Arashi doesn’t have much information floating around, but when I saw that it was going to be done by Shaft I knew that I had to watch it. I’m making it through Maria+Holic and I would like to see Shaft’s standard of animation quality on a show with more plot. I’ll be watching this series happily, but I doubt that I will have time to blog it.
Pandora Hearts
Oz Bezarius, heir to one of the duke houses, has turned fifteen. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, he is cast into the prison ‘Abyss”, only to be saved by a “chain”, Alice, a bloodstained black rabbit. He seeks to explain what happened and what the organization known as Pandora wants with him.

It’s like Kingdom Hearts….only with a box! Ok that was dumb. I have mixed feelings about this show. The trailer got me excited, but when I re watched it I felt like I had definitely seen everything this show has to offer before. I’m not planning on blogging this, but if some of the other shows this season turn out less than satisfactory I’ll come a hollering to Pandora Hearts.

Phantom – Requiem for the Phantom
In the American underworld, Mafia leaders are being killed one after another, with rumors of “Inferno” and the organization’s top assassin “Phantom” circulating around them. A boy, traveling alone in America, becomes involved in an incident and unexpectedly encountered Phantom.

Ok, Again…we have a series with ties to America. I was completely sold the moment (watch the preview to understand) I saw the male lead character nanchalauntly shoot someone while he wasn’t looking….while sitting in a car. It was both comical and cool at the same time. My plan is to definitely give this one a viewing and see what comes of it.

Assassins? MELIKES. What interests me is how a little boy or girl can cause so much havoc and be branded a highly revered title. Plus… it seems kind of interesting that Anime is being created with a background of my country. The “couple” in the picture also interests me a bit. The description was what actually drew me to say “I’m OK with watching this — it reminded me of Black Lagoon.

Queen’s Blade
The story follows a competition to decide the next Queen. The strongest warrior will rule the country and expand it. The contestants need to be older than 12. They need not be human, intelligent or even of that country. The rules for the tournament: Murder is allowed. Any weapon can be chosen.

I always say “my friend” and in all truth, it’s more than one person. Well, a friend of mine would frequently show me pictures of the game Queen’s Blade and talk about how great it is. Well, I’m going to watch it and judge on if it really is that great. Just by looking at the cover I can guess it will be similar to Koihime Musou. With bewbs everywhere, that is. But besides that, I need to rant and say that I’m kind of getting sick of seeing all the male leading characters pushed down and the female leading characters pushed up. In action Anime. I mean, hasn’t there been enough? I think most shows I’ve seen has a female leading character who kicks ass as well… [e.g. Fate/Stay Night, Black Lagoon, Kurohime, etc]. I just want to see some men fight as they look more cool 2.

Haha, no. Unless Aizen makes me….then I’ll pull out the claws and take jiggle tallies or something.

Aizen: After seeing this video, I have to see it. methinks it has a lot of fanservice :3

Ristorante Paradiso
A restaurant in ROme is visited by Nicoletta, who lives in the countryside with her grandparents. Her divorced mother abandons her after remarrying, and so Nicoletta goes to the restaurant owned by the new husband of her mother. She ends up apprenticing there among a kitchen staff of colorful characters.

This looks like a straighter version of Antique Bakery. I loved the manga for Antique Bakery, but the anime really was quite terrible. I think this might fill the void that was left. I am strangely excited to watch this for the characters and the jokes, but blogging…..eh I might think about it if no one else blogs this show.

Saki
The story centers around Saki Miyanaga, a timid freshman girl who has never enjoyed the Asian tile game of mahjong. However, another freshman brings her into their high school’s mahjong club and into the competitive world of mahjong tournaments.

So, I’m not a fan of games nor am I a fan of sports. Seeing it in Anime doesn’t make it feel any better. But I saw this Chinese film called “Fat Choi Spirit” and it really impressed me with all the (cheap) tricks the main guy did. This film really is the big one that made me want to watch it. Plus, lots of people around me at school and friends of mine frequently talks and plays Mahjong. It really makes me wonder why its so great and amazed me at how people can make a “hand” to win. Kind of reminds me of 21 or something. If it sucks, I’m going to drop it though :P

If Aizen says this is any good I’ll think about it. Otherwise it looks like it’s not really up my alley.

Even though the trailer looks really corny, I still am going to watch it!

Tayutama -Kiss on my Deity-
There is a legend of a guardian deity named Tayutayu who has been lost over time. Mito and his friends discover a mysteriously patterned relic on the school grounds and at the new year opening ceremony. A mysterious girl, Mashiro, appears before Mito. Mashiro is somehow tied to the relic and Tayutayu legend.

This looks like another type of Spice and Wolf. As I missed Spice and Wolf, I’m gonna go and see this. Seems interesting enough. I’m not into furry or anything, but uh… URMOM. That’s what she said! I was a Spice and Wolf fan. The pace was sloth-like, but the show really had something unspoken going for it. This looks like there will be a lot more furry jokes and a lot less economics.

Tears to Tiara
Riannon is set to be sacrificed to appease resurrected demon lord, Arawn. As her brother Arthur attempts to rescue her, Arawn defies those who resurrected him and frees Riannon from her captors. Because of this, Riannon admires Arawn. Arawn acts as a leader and assembles a party of companions.

A demon lord? That reminds me of Demon Diary. One thing I kind of like is when the evil turns good… but when the opposite happens it’s also good. That kind of genre interests me because there’s always something tragic that happens alongside it. I’m not really all into tragedy and such, but in Anime with action (and no romance) it’s cool. One thing I want to look out for more, in this show, is any romance. That’s kind of my thing — to see romance in a show of action. Though, adventure isn’t exactly my type of genre because it’s always the same phony thing about people meeting new people and somehow become companions with them. It sounds almost ludicrous but eh, I accept it anyways.

I’ll take a look at this. I don’t feel like the premise is particularly original, but it has good potential to be a strong show. And I like the genre too.
Tsubasa Shunraiki OVA
Continuation from Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations.

I know this is just an OVA, but I thought that I would throw it on here. Since there will be only a few episodes I’m pretty sure that I will blog it. I painfully sat through all of the series …ulg Bee Train and made it to Tokyo Rev. without disappointment. Yes, I need a CLAMP fix.

I didn’t notice this in the list but I do like Tsubasa Chronicles. In fact, Tokyo Revelations was what got me hooked on it. I’ll definitely watch this but I don’t feel like this is the sort of Anime which would motivate me to blogging it and instead just motivated me to watch it. I can’t explain it. Still, the Manga extends farther than the Anime… so I can’t say what will show will surprise me too much.

Valkyria Chronicles
In a ficitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe divided in two by the Empire and the Federation, the Empire has set its sight on invading a small neutral country called Gallia – situated in between the two great empires. Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federation’s 7th Platoon are engaged in the battle.

My peers are fans of the game and have every intention of watching this so I have a feeling that I’ll get roped in as well. The opening for the game was really quite nice. Valkyria gives me this strange sense that it’s a hybrid between Nausicaa and a wholesome pre WWII Germany. No trailers yet so here’s a cop out to fill space and show you what the characters will look like.

Glad to see a fellow Hayate fan. I’m usually not a fan of looong shows, since I burn out around 22-25 eps, but the first season kept me rolling all the way to the end, and I wanted more. So needless to say, I’m looking forward to it as well.

LOL, Mahou Shoujo Mahjong Saki? That’s what the Saki trailer makes me think. I look forward to its hilarity.

Tayutama has chicks with wings so that’s pretty much instant win for me. I wanted to check it out anyway, just because I’m in the mood for just some completely blatant moe, but the chicks with wings will make everything worth it. Although those chicks with wings look like the ‘bad guys.’ D:

Spring anime doesnt interest me at all. Oh God. Whats happening to me?

@Kairu Ishimaru: Oh that’s alright…I wasn’t really excited about this winter season and spring doesn’t have me that pumped, but there’s usually a sleeper among the shows.
