Toshokan Sensou – 04
- Kasahara and Inamine are forced to follow Media Enforcement Act-ers.
- Kasahara is told to contact the Library Task Force… and she wittily tells them to cancel a reservation to a restaurant; they were held captive near there.
- Inamine was more snide; his prosthesis as a signaling device for the task force.
- Doujou thinks confusingly of why Kasahara is like his old self. She “picks up his past and treasures it”. Probably the reason for why he likes her.
- He saves Kasahara and Inamine. To add to it, he compliments Kasahara for protecting Inamine. They soon argued.
- Kasahara rejects Asahina, but he doesn’t show any expression change; he asked her out only because Doujou said he could learn a thing or two from her.
- She gets a letter from her parents saying that they’ll be visiting her in her workplace. L.O.L.
Well, who would have thought that Kasahara could be witty? I never thought that. And really, I was kind of amazed that a guy who is considered perfect (Asahina) would ever like a plain girl like Kasahara… but of course as it’s an Anime anything could happen. Well, in this case that anything didn’t happen and pretty much he just wanted to see the funny faces and things which Kasahara does. Completely normal there. Also, I think it’s kind of weird that Doujou is attracted to a reflection of his past… maybe he just wants to be like Kasahara, like how he was in his younger (*cough*) days. But who knows.

I barely found the restaurant cancellation witty, instead I would find that highly suspicious. I think the fact that she is a female was the only reason she got away with it, since the Media Enforcement personnel probably wouldn’t think that the task force would have a female member.
Asahina probably had other motives for asking her out, a formal relationship isn’t necessary to learn things from another. One has to love the look Kasahara gave him when she rejected him, though.
I thought it was witty because Kasahara isn’t a type who I’d expect to say anything remotely smart… but you know what, I haven’t really thought about why the MEF didn’t restrain her or anything when she said something like that.
It would be cool to see Kasahara do more funny faces, though. 8 more episodes to go, and I can’t wait to see it all.
