Toradora – 23 + 24 – Crème de la crème
NO U 1
In episode 23 2, I was left thinking: Was there any symbolism? I thought after awhile I concluded that small, itty-gritty things that happened were symbolic in itself. I mean, there just had to have been something which would tell us what the ending will foretell 3. So here are the things I looked at and felt were symbols – foreshadowing if you must: Career paper thrown out the window, Ami’s stolen shoe, Taiga pulling Ryuuji before he got smacked by a truck, and the obvious one the Chocolates. I’m also going to add in the OP and ED as well as I feel that they are symbols as well. I mean, I’ve always thought the OP and ED had some symbols but never really bothered to think too much about it. But here I am and so I will talk about it. But in all honesty I was not focusing too much on the words but more on the pictures. Plus, the title is almost important. Sure words tell you a lot, but pictures tell you much more. I’m sure someone has already made a blog post about it anyways – of it describing the girls in this show and how they are all too tsundere to admit their love.
Minori, stop taking poor Taiga’s virginity D;
Silky Love
The pictures shown in the Opening is really unsymbolic to me and is just for fanservice if you ask me. Now, what is silk first? It isn’t something too simple is it? Well, silk is a soft yet strong material threaded to make clothes and such. But besides that, let’s focus on the key words: Soft and strong. The title itself tells a story, don’t you think? Doesn’t that describe people? They are strong on the outside but in the inside they are soft. You can also argue and say that they have a strong yet weak love. Depending on how they approach it, their love is initially weak (soft) but as the story continues it strengthens (strong). Then again, you can say that it starts out strong but turns weak. Both happened. Ryuuji’s love for Minori was initially strong but as time went by, it weakened. Same goes for Taiga and Kitamaru. At the same time, the love between Ryuuji and Taiga strengthened. That’s just how I see it though – you can have as many interpretations as you wish.
Orange
The basic idea is that an orange is sweet and sour – just like the girls. Sour orange reminds them of themselves so they ate it. Isn’t that just like how each of the girls are doing things? Each of them looks at each other as a part of themselves so they try to help them. But who’s the one that isn’t going to be eaten. In other words, which orange is the one that will be devoured by Ryuuji. The most sourest of the orange – de Crème de la crème orange. But if you look at the images shown, Ryuuji is using the oranges to make pie. And the pie was being chomped on by the three girls. Connect that back to them helping each other. Who has the piece which is the most sour? But besides that, what is a pie, in most cases? Pieces. Ryuuji normally places his love in cooking and doing other house-chore thing. So does that mean that whoever eats the most pieces is the one who loves him the most?
As you all should know, it’s Taiga as she’s the one who eats most of his shit.
Raping Taiga is NOT going to make her happy. Much.
Career Paper & Nearly Truck Accident & Chocolates.
What happens if you’re throwing your career paper out the window? You’re throwing your future out, right? Ryuuji didn’t. I thought that this seemed like “Taiga, you’re alone since you’re throwing your future away.” But when you think about it, Ryuuji has been helping Taiga. He has been guiding her and supporting her – herself and her future. But once Ryuuji almost lost hope in life and nearly died, Taiga grabbed him up. It’s a symbiotic relationship showing that they will both support each other. They will both help each other and love each other. That’s more or less all I have to say about this. Chocolates are pretty much the global idea of love. To give someone your chocolates is like giving them your love. It was always obvious that Taiga spent the most time on Ryuuji’s box of chocolate. But let’s make this more complicated, shall we? What color was the chocolate she had? Brown. When someone is brown, do you look at that as pure? No, it’s dilluted. She might have spent the most time making the chocolate for Ryuuji, but she spent the most time trying to make it so that her love for him is “difficult to see”. She didn’t want him to know of her affection to him, in other words. But when you spend a lot of time on it, does that mean it’s hidden? No. It can definitely also mean that her love is clearly shown regardless of how much she tries to hide it.
… You know what I’m thinking, right?
Ami’s Shoe
Now, I wasn’t exactly thinking Ryuuji had a shoe fetish or anything. I mean, if he had a foot fetish that’s normal but a shoe fetish is kinda weird. Though, Ami’s feet WAS in that shoe. It might turn some people on. Anyways, I think that there are two interpretations to this. Let me start with the first one. First of all, what do shoes help on? To walk and not have the feet blister or anything. It’s kind of like a protection, if you think about it. It even helps support you in walking, right? So when Ryuuji took that shoe away, it was like Ami placing down her guards and making her immobile. What does that mean, anyways? Well, Ami, initially was a weak little girl who couldn’t protect herself – she needed others to protect her, to help her move on. But when Ami took it back, it more or less summarized that she can support her own two feet and that she can protect herself. She doesn’t need Ryuuji by her side. Secondly, I think Toradora really “needs” you to look at lots of things as one of two things: A person’s love and a person’s life. It’s mostly the prior case, though. If you think of the shoe as Ami’s love, you can say that Ryuuji holding Ami’s shoe is him holding her love. But as she took it back, she took back her love. She didn’t need Ryuuji to love her – she knew he loved someone else.
The ending was obvious and seeing all the people who’ve voted in the poll, we all know who the J.C. Staff are going to pair Ryuuji with. Such a waste of bewbs 4
For Toradora, the romance should end with...
- Ryuuji x Taiga (48%, 47 Votes)
- Ryuuji x Minori (10%, 10 Votes)
- Ryuuji x Ami (24%, 24 Votes)
- Ryuuji x his mom (5%, 5 Votes)
- Ryuuji x Kitamaru (1%, 1 Votes)
- Ryuuji x Ami x Minori x Taiga (7%, 7 Votes)
- No one/Ryuuji's death, like Makoto in School Days (5%, 4 Votes)
Total Voters: 98
I’m sorry Ami fans — but they just aren’t going to give us what we want. Well, who cares. I don’t want that dick Ryuuji to have her anyways. She’s better off with… someone with more common sense 5.
When the hell is it ever a reward?
Obviousness has reached a whole new level.
On episode 24, when Ryuuji decided to chase after Taiga it was more or less telling Minori that he’s choosing to go after Taiga and not her [anymore]. In fact, it was even validated to her when she indirectly asked him if he liked Taiga. And you know, once the show started to show Taiga walking around wearing the white coat, I thought: Here’s a girl wearing white. A fragile, innocent girl who’s running away from her so-called problems. And what happens next? She bumped into the person she love – her “angel” in her life, Ryuuji. He’s really her angel, if you think about it; helping her, cooking for her, and even promising to hold her when she’s “running away”. Running away… can mean crying, don’t you think? Because why would you run away? Because something has been pulling you down – making you feel sad. He’s her angel and it’s too damn obvious about it. In another way, it might just be that their existance is symbiotic and that both consider one another as angels. I mean, Taiga did call herself an angel at one point, right?
And I’m sure he wants to see your insides
Once Ryuuji started to vocifierate at Ya-chan, I really felt contriteful. I mean, she wanted her son to do something that she wasn’t able to do… but instead he turned it over on her. It was sad and in all truth, I can relate to it. Not completely, but I can relate 6. Still, Ryuuji was a total jackass for doing it. His mother tried her best to help him and I do understand that he just wanted to help her… but for fuck’in sakes, was it needed to dehumanize his own hot mom? I don’t think so. But sometimes, it’s just needed to yell so that someone will understand you more. One thing that rung in my head when this event happened was “I hope his mom doesn’t kill Taiga ’cause he chose a little loli with no oppai 7 over her, who has oppai. I’m NOT trying to say “MILF 8 is pwnage!” but yea… she looks young and in all truth… I’d do it. She probably would have asked for it anyways.
Faps @ Ami’s cute, pouting face
Well, Taiga consciously admitted love to Ryuuji again and I was like, “O.K., smecks now?” But considering that it’s not a hentai it wasn’t possible… yet 9. When Taiga pushed Ryuuji off the bridge… that was funny. I mean, there are such things as lovers who suicide because they can’t be together anymore. It just felt that way to me. But as they’re alive, does that mean that they can continue living and loving? Probably yes. Besides that, I thought it was kind of sad that Ami also confirmed that Ryuuji loved Taiga. She was never even able to say that she liked him at all. Plus, Minori actually cried even after all her talk of not crying. She said that she realized that tripping in life will cause a nosebleed of your heart – blatanatly a pain in your heart. The pain can be caused by more than one thing: Broken love, lost of a friend, broken dreams, etc. These are just the few things I know of what Minori had to give up in life… and she finally allowed it to go out.
Somebody: Shoot Haruta, please
The watch that Yasuko gave to Taiga seemed to me like “It is time.” And in the end, she even ran away. I hope she doesn’t get raped or anything… or worse; become a smut 10. It’s pretty sad that Minori is still covering up her sorrow with her happiness. I just means that she can’t accept it. Jumping ahead, the preview for episode 25 really made me feel weird. I mean, Taiga said that she didn’t want Ryuuji to laugh or get mad at her. What will she do to make him laugh or get mad at her…? I really don’t like how it’s going at this point. I mean, it’s good and all and I don’t feel as bad as I did knowing that it won’t be an Ami x Ryuuji ending, but if they were to just twist the plot again I don’t know what to do. It’s like giving someone pie, then tell them it’s cake, and when you eat it it’s actually a bomb. I hope that everything will end correctly and such. In a way, I kind of feel a Minori x Ryuuji ending. I mean, Ami seems to have accepted that Ryuuji likes Taiga… but Minori hasn’t 11. Connecting this with what Taiga said in the preview… yeah. There weren’t much voters on a Minori x Ryuuji ending anyways.
Oh and, I’ll also blog the last episode. I mean, so much has happened to me that I really had to let it out.
Damn, why does Ryuuji get all the loli vag?

Wow…
I’m surprised how much work somebody could do on this anime^^
Maybe you overdid it in some interpretations^^ for example with Ami’s shoe…
Not every detail may be a hidden symbol…^^
In my opinion “the romance should end with” Ryuuji x Minori ^^
how it was on the beginning…
I can’t understand how Ryuuji can switch so easily from one girl to another…
how inconsistent….-.-
The 24. episode was the absolute worst… the run away and marry …lol…>.>
I really hope you will be right with your forecast…^^
greetz..
