Toradora – 12

Everyone practiced for their festival’s play. Tiger started to open up more to her father – she wanted to smell nice for her father. In fact, she asked Takasu and even headbutted him for an answer. The father was waiting for Tiger again – most likely to another restaurant to “spend time” with her. Takasu thought he was doing a great job in gaining back Tiger’s trust. When it was night time, Tiger wanted to do something in school… Which on the next day she gave some Macarons to Ami just so that she could blackmail her into switching roles for the Cultural Festival. And along with the blackmailing, she headbutting her head on Ami’s stomach just to forcefully make Ami agree. When Takasu told Minori of why Tiger was doing this, she got peeved off and said that her father was a despicable man who is only tricking Tiger… AGAIN. She didn’t want Tiger to get hurt again. Takasu got pissed off saying that her father is trying to be with Tiger again and Minori responded by asking him if he REALLY looked at her father and saw his true self. At this point, Tiger popped up to break it up via making them hold hands. Takasu reputed by rudely moving his hand away from Minori and walking off.

Takasu hid in between two vending machines. He was sad and so Ami popped up to say that he was sitting in her spot. She fits perfectly in there. He tried to tell Ami that he was mad because it was all Minori’s fault – that the Minori he knew didn’t act the way she did before. Ami replied by saying she isn’t going to console him of his problems. Though, she told him that she got everything back to normal in the rehearsal room and that he should return. Takasu noticed that she changed and well, wanted to change as well. Whilst leaving Ami said, which I think sums up what Takasu has been doing the past 11 episodes, was that she’s not going to be like him and cling onto him like he does Tiger nor will she be the sunshine to him like Minori. The last thing she said was that she’ll take the same path as him – but will walk a bit further from him.

When Takasu arrived home Ya-chan was there and said that she met Tiger’s father and was told that Tiger was going to move. She thought of him as somewhat of a spoiled man… to pop up and just take Tiger away, which when the words were heard Takasu got pissed off and yelled at his own cute mom. She said she wanted Tiger to stay… so I would call that selfishness as well. When Tiger returned, she told Takasu to apologize to Minori – not for who’s right or wrong but just to say it. Before the festival started, Takasu looked like a real delinquent. Throughout the festival, he thought about apologizing but couldn’t. Ami and the others were doing a great job performing, but Tiger was having troubles with her lisps. In one part when they started to talk about the string of fate, Ms. Koigakubo freaked out and was dragged out of the room. Takasu tried to smack Ami with a chair and everyone just started to create a haystack on him. Unforgivable. Then Tiger and Ami were wrestling.

Now that the play was done, Takasu could have apologized to Minori. He didn’t. Tiger wanted her father to have seen the play and such, but he was nowhere to be found or reached. When Tiger was eating a crepe (I think it was) Kitamaru bit into it. Instead of biting onto it herself, she jammed it right into Takasu’s face. When Takasu was walking together to Tiger, he tried to raise her hope of her father coming but she just got angry and told him to worry about Minori instead.

Next Episode

When Taiga wanted to smell nice for father, I immediately thought: Oh god, not another Asuna (Negima!) as she likes older people. But then again it would be incest. Doubt anyone would root for this. When Taiga blackmailed Ami, I totally laughed at the way she did it. It was so blatant and reminded me of when Haruhi made those computer nerds touch Mikuru’s bewbs just so that she could get some nice computers. One thing I found pretty interesting was that Takasu didn’t feel happy with Minori even though he said he “loves” her. Hell, he still supported Taiga and felt happier for Taiga than he ever did with Minori. What made it even more prominent was when he didn’t want to apologize to her during the festival event.

If anyone my previous post, I’m starting to think that the sidekick of Takasu is Ami. Kind of the reason why I dedicated a whole paragraph for that. As Ami is a girl, I truly felt that if Takasu were to pair up with her I would be happy. As my thoughts of Tiger and Minori goes down, Ami’s go up… she’s just that great in my mind – not perfect, but great. What I didn’t mention was that Takasu ALMOST fondled with his hair – meaning he almost loved Ami (I guess you can say that).
