Toradora – 11
Koigakubo came to school, mourning over the fact that she’s single, while everyone else was happy. Sumire, the head of the school council, vowed to make her last year’s school festival to be the best one ever. Ami and Tiger were having an argument in PE about Ami not catching the ball. Ami didn’t want to damage her nails. The boys in the locker room were in a heated discussion about what class event they were going to do. In the end, they jumped into the idea of cosplaying. As there were more boys in class than girl, they knew their idea will be approved. Tiger received a phone call from someone – her father – but refused to pick it up. She blatantly said that she hated her damn old man.
In class, Haruta wanted to nominate Ami as a beauty idol participant, but she declined as she will be the hoster. Instead, she nominated Tiger as the participant. Initially, she said no but when Kitamaru touched her she couldn’t say no. all the boys voted on having a cosplay-type (or maid) of festival for their class. The girls felt that this type of idea is already being used by other classes. Minori tried to suggest a Haunted House, but got a nose bleed when trying to speak. Kitamaru told her to not push herself. Instead of doing a voting thing, Haruta did a lottery. The winning ticket was a Pro Wrestling theme, most likely written by Ms. Koigakubo herself.
When Tiger tried to get some money out of her card, it said it was depleted. Immediately Tiger knew that the one at fault was her father. Takasu couldn’t see what was wrong with Tiger talking to her father so she got him to go see her father instead. Takasu thought of Tiger’s father as a normal, child loving father. When Takasu declined Tiger’s father offer of buying food, he made a sad, pitiful looking face. I guess that’s a pout. As Takasu is a nice guy, he ordered food. When Tiger’s father asked if he was in relationship with Tiger, Takasu shyly declined. When he returned home, he thought of what Tiger’s father said – that he wanted to live with Tiger forever again. When he arrived home, Tiger was washing dishes. She wanted to be more independent of her father.
In school Haruta made the script. Tiger and Takasu are the evil ones and Ami is the good. A great plot twist. While going home, Tiger and Takasu saw her father. Instead of greeting home, she kicked him in the crouch. He fell down holding it while Tiger continued up to Takasu’s home. Takasu was pissed off so he pinned Tiger on the wall and told her to go to her father. She did and that dumbass hugged her. Takasu watched from afar as the two go away.
When I first saw this episode, I didn’t think about how Taiga’s father acted. I thought the same way Takasu did – with ignorance. What I should have noticed was that her father was a shell of an adult with a spoiled brat inside. He deserves to be kicked in the balls by everyone in the series, in fact. I’m calling her father a dumbass because Taiga KICKED him in the BALLS. Seriously, you’re going to hug someone who did that crap to you? Unless he has a damn good pedophilic reason, I’m calling him a dumbass.
Anyone thinks that Koigakubo will ever get a boyfriend OR husband? Since seriously… she’s sad. She’s trying to be like Zetsubou Sensei and cause despair to everyone around her. But I guess that’s what makes me laugh every now and then in this series. Oh and remember me saying that Takasu pinned Taiga down? Well, when he first did that I thought he was going to (g)rape her because he looks like a delinquent and if delinquents get peeved, they (g)rape.

Yeah, I felt the same way. I didn’t think Taiga’s father was all that bad really. But then the more I saw of him I realized he was kind of a dick. He just kinda cut Taiga off to force her to meet with him, then he has the gall to think all should be forgiven when he comes to her with money. It’s like someone who scolds their kid and then goes and buys them a big present to make up for scolding them. Not only does it screw up the whole point of the negative reinforcement, but it also shows how shallow you are.
He also just seemed kinda like Ami, like he was putting on a nice face for the people he wanted to impress.
