Shakugan no Shana II – 16
It has Come, an End and a Start
So the festival ends and Ogata points out that certain someones didn’t help clean up the festival. Ike offered Yoshida help, but Fujita dragged him along again. Their classmates were looking at all the costumes and noticed Konoe’s, but didn’t even know whose it was. Everyone basically forgot about Konoe as her power of existence was erased by Hecate. Sakai seemed pretty glum that Konoe’s gone since he reminisced about Konoe attacking him and stuff.
Back in the castle where Hecate resides, Hecate gives back the fragment (a bracelet) which created Konoe to Bel-Peol. It seems that Hecate’s plan was to transfer the Reiji Maigo to somewhere else via killing the Mystes. Bel Peol said that such an incident is benign. The evil scientist there said it’s also good because he can collect more battle data. Hecate made a flame appear on her hand and the Silver Armor started to glow. The fire and the glowing energy merged or something – causing the armor to move a little.
Shana and Yoshida called out to the daydreaming Sakai, but it didn’t work until Shana spoke in a higher tone. Keisaku showed up and told Shana and others that Margery wanted to check on Sakai again (to confirm their situations and plan). Keisaku told Yoshida that she didn’t have to come, but she said she wanted to. She had a flashback that Pheles gave her a Hogou that’ll sacrifice Yoshida’s life in order to summon her; Pheles thought of her life as insignificant and useful for only that. It was for when trouble falls upon Sakai.
Margery examined Sakai. Eita was about to go to Keisaka’s house with the others, but left probably because he was still traumatized about Ogata’s death while Fuzetsu was up; Keisaka noticed him though. Alastor started to talk about the blunder that happened with Konoe and that such a thing should not happen again. Margery found that a transmitter of some sort was placed into the Reiji Maigo and Sakai thought back to when Konoe bore at him with her staff. They had to worry about yet another thing now. Margery also explained that Johan most likely used the insignia she wrapped Sakai in to take over and recreate his body. It was also mentioned that their town was attracting Tomogaras and such probably because of Sakai.
Sakai’s father was leaving and he told the girls to take care of the now-popular Sakai. He also requested Chigusa to go on a date with him until he arrives at the airport and while they were walking away, Sakai felt distant from them. Shana told Sakai that Wilhelmina wanted him to do something, so he OK and that he also wanted to talk to her, Shana, and Alastor about something (excluding Yoshida). Yoshida was “OK” about it and watched and Shana and Sakai left then turned around and left as well. During her walk, she thought about wanting to be with Sakai like Shana and even started to think about what Pheles said to her about the Hogou. Ogata appeared and spoke with her. It seems that she was about to go to Eita’s place. When Yoshida saw the park, she remembered Konoe and mentioned her to Ogata. Ogata blatantly didn’t know a Konoe.
Wilhelmina wanted to use Sakai as an organizer for all her data she dug up. Sakai asked Shana to let him use Blutsauger (a big sword). They said it was OK. Wilhelmina thought that Hecate wouldn’t go to Sakai just to place a transmitter on him; she thought there was an ulterior motive. Jumping to Hecate, Hecate pointed her staff to the Silver Armor, and it started to move. Everything was set, as Bel Peol said. Margery thought about all the work that has appeared before her. Yoshida thought about throwing the Hogou away to the ocean on a bridge, but a Fuzetsu was setup and she noticed that Shana was teaching Sakai to use a sword so she didn’t throw it away.
Hecate was staring at to the forest from the castle, and a bird went on her hand and flew away – kinda startling her.
New Opening song! Yay! New Ending song! Yay!
This episode wasn’t all that good as I wanted fighting. They pretty much stepped back and looked at the situation they were in. Only thing I thought was new to me in this episode was that Sakai now held a transmitter in his Hogou (Reiji Maigo). Sakai got a sword… but I doubt he’ll know how to use it even when he’s fighting a Tomogara. I mean really, throughout the whole season of this episode he has NEVER attacked a Tomogara directly. It’s more or less him giving power to Shana for destroying ‘em.
Man, I haven’t posted for a loooong time.

Ah, another reminder for me to make time to catch up on my anime backlog ToT.
