Deceptions after Deceptions
Everyone was waiting for Shana. Pheeles was still resting on Wilhelmina. Margery wanted to just start with whatever they wanted to do. Keisaku appeared out and asked Sakai about the whereabouts of Shana. Shana was coming… to Yoshida’s house! Yoshida was reminiscing… Everyone was talking about keeping the Reiji Maigo safely away from its creator – Pheeles. Yoshida was blatantly left out of the conversation. Pheeles agreed to not assault Sakai… if it’s for Johan. Pheeles noticed Yoshida – a normal human and pretty much said that an ordinary human shouldn’t be there. Yoshida felt like she shouldn’t be involved… but Shana showed up and told her to go with her. Yoshida started to ask Shana questions about what it takes to be “abnormal”. Shana pretty much boosted her feelings about being involved with “Shana’s world”. While Shana was flying, Yoshida noted that Shana had the same confident face as in the festival. Shana told her that she’ll confess to Sakai.

When Shana and Yoshida arrived at Keisaku’s house, everyone was a bit surprised. Shana didn’t want to leave Yoshida out – it would be “unfair”. Margery started with an unrestricted spell on Sakai – as a protection. Pheeles went forward to Sakai. Shana threatened Pheeles that if she does anything funny, she’ll kill her. Pheeles leaned on Sakai’s chest, causing Shana and Yoshida to get a little jealous/blush. Pheeles was starting to think about Johan again… and pushed Sakai down. She had regained her strength. Shana pointed her sword towards Pheeles and Pheeles said that she promised to not touch the Mystes’ core. Margery said that there’s a spell insignia on the Reiji Maigo. The Keeper was undergoing a mutation. Margery said that even the creator of the Keeper wouldn’t be safe. There was nothing connecting to the Silver. After Marchosias made fun of Sakai about being weird being, Yoshida backed Sakai up saying he’s still him. She started to explain her ignorance about being a human. She had a request for Pheeles.

The request seemed to have been for Pheeles to go to the festival with her. Wilhelmina never thought Yoshida would actually say such a thing. Yoshida said that she should know that there’s no difference toward anyone – regardless of who or what they are. Sakai asked Wilhelmina about why they’re up in the school roof and she said it’s for caution – if Pheeles were to attack him that is. Yoshida told Pheeles about festivals. Pheeles said she was in many festivals before… with Johan. Eita was with Ogata, having a nice time – until he saw Margery. He was pretty solemn to her. Barely talked to her. She told him that there’s a lot of time for him to find think of a conclusion, and he said thanks and left. Sakai was thinking that him not having fun – his time being frozen – was right. Sakai asked Wilhelmina about who Johan was. Pheeles was a Tomogara who didn’t care about anything but herself… She raised Johan as a baby out of passing interest. When the baby grew, Pheeles began to love him… There wasn’t a difference in love toward whoever it was. Ike was almost finished with the festival, but was grabbed away to help again.

The festival was ending and Pheeles said Johan would be sad. Up on a clock tower, Johan was sad for a festival to end. Pheeles said she would give him anything. Johan grabbed Pheeles and kissed her. He said he’d give up his humanity and become a Myste for her. The clock tower broke and he disappeared into the light. Pheeles started crying about her time… with Johan. Yoshida gave her a tissue. The festival was ending. Pheeles started to thank everyone who has been so great to her – to have saved her from doing the wrong things. Lastly, she thanked Yoshida for showing her a great time at the festival. Pheeles did the evil smile and imploded! Shana saved Yoshida and the others jumped away. Sakai, unfortunately, was trapped in a ball of whirlwind. Pheeles appeared once again. The Pheeles they’ve been interacting with was just a marker to figure out the Reiji Maigo’s location. It was the “Rage of Wind” which allowed that fake being, the Avatar, to know of the town’s surroundings and such. Pheeles said that she took advantage of everything and everyone just to get back Johan. She was going closer to Sakai, when all of a sudden a silver metal arm reached out and pierced Pheeles’s body. On the ground, the bracelet of Konoe and her butler were shining an eerie blue…

This episode was full boringness if you ask me. I thought something cool would happen… and it did… at the end. Kinda. Kind of getting repetitive for someone wanting to do something to Sakai, you know? Well, to just highlight what I think is important: When Pheeles knocks Sakai down, when Pheeles shows us her past with Johan, when Pheeles explodes and her real self appeared and tried to grab his Reiji Maigo, and when a Silver arm pierced through Pheele’s body. If you think this is boring, I suggest you skip this episode. Though, it’d be better if they gave us a better description as to how Pheeles and Johan started to develop feelings for one another. But meh, that’d probably take another 24 episodes, right?
