Maria+Holic – 01 — Traps aren’t all nice and innocent
Maria+Holic had an interesting opening, so that was good for me. I almost thought that this person wasn’t the crossdresser but… when she introduced herself to Kanako I was like “lolwtfshitefellfortrap”. No, I didn’t facepalm as this trap was one which isn’t an innocent guy who lets people boss him around. But it was interesting because he placed on a good disguise with a tone which sounded really feminine. If I never knew that Mariya was a trap, I would have said “I’d tap that.” Besides that, who else saw that mole on Mariya’s face when you first saw this show? Because that was what I saw right away and that bugged me throughout the whole show.
That cat… that cat that cat that cat that cat! I WANT TO TOUCH HER EARS! I understand Kananko’s feelings of seeing some neko ears yet never being able to touch it. Makes you want a cat but eh… if you can’t afford to keep a cat you can’t get it :[ Maybe a lolikitsune will work? Well, as long as he can feed himself and stuff I'm OK with keeping one. Then again, if I keep him, does that make me religious? Well, I hope not :P BUT I DIGRESS, I think Dorm Mistress is being compared to Kyouka. But who knows - I never watched Kyouran Kazoku Nikki before[1]
This part just made me laugh for a loooong time. I mean, who would have thought that a trap would actually do something so… mean? He’s like, placing on a facade just so that he could stay at that school. What does he even want to accomplish there? Have sex with every one of the girls and trick them into thinking he’s a futanari? Well, I don’t know. I’m just going to guess that he’s there because his father/mother/someone related to him died and their last wish was for him to experience a female school. i.e. the reason is similar to Mizuho’s reason (Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru).
Yandere is cool with girls, but once a guy does it… it’s not? Well, do you call a guy who enjoys S&M yandere or something else? Hmm…
Anyways, for Mariya to trick Kanako wasn’t really surprising. Seeing as Mariya is the smarter of the two, I kind of expected this. I mean… Kanako isn’t really what you call a bright person. If we actually go back a bit, she followed Mariya even after she found out Mariya was a guy [2]. All I can say at this point is “Poor Kanako”. She better stay awake all night if she wants to keep her virginity *cough*.
And here’s more of the slow Kanako. After this was done, Mariya told Kanako to take care of her [3]. Poor Kanako… to be abused by a trap in this type of fashion. I hope she doesn’t wake up in the next episode full of hives and stuff. I might just vomit from that :( Can’t wait for the next episode to come out :P

1. I have only watched one episode of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki… but I really just turned it on, started to code, and listened to the voices. Then I never watched it again.
2. But totally realized what was happened and exploded. Shit happens.
3. In a cute, girly voice. I nominate her to be the next Haruka-san. The man who is also (probably) GAR.

So far, this is my favorite first episode of the winter season…outta four that I’ve seen…>_> The trap wasn’t really what I expected, that same ‘innocent’ guy that you mentioned, so it piqued my interest a bit! ^_^

Totally Agree. This is like, better than Akikan. Akikan made me laugh mainly because of the jokes with homosexuality and nakedness in front of a girl. But Maria+Holic made me laugh just because Kanako is her own clown for us :P
