Next Episode:

I am what I am. An in-debt Butler.
The episode starts out with Hayate’s parents naming him because his father wanted him to grow up to be strong to outrun debt collectors but, Hayate, as little as he was, knew he didn’t like the name. It then skips to the part of the plot where Nagi, Maria and Klause where observing a portrait sent to them as a gift. The portrait was estimated to be 200 million in yen. Hayate appears to the scene with milk tea and takes a look at the portrait and claimed it was a fake. Klause gets angry and says it can pay for his debt while all of a sudden a old man comes in and confirms it was fake and takes the portrait away. Klause then said that he was going back to the Art Vault to pose as a statue.

Nagi and Maria was astounded with Hayate’s ability to spot counterfeits and asks how he was able to do it. Hayate then talks about when he was little where he helped his father sell art where he was taught to swap out the real portraits with fakes and was trained to instantly spot fakes. The plot then moves on to where Hayate was washing dishes while Nagi and Maria was spying on him wondering about his great abilities and Nagi then wondered if Hayate had any weaknesses and begins to try and find them.

Nagi then said that she prepared 4 things with one in each box that might be Hayate’s weakness (but in fact they seem to be all of Nagi’s). Anyway, back to the plot, Nagi opens the first box which turned out to be a frog and Nagi quivers at the sight of it and drops the idea and just goes about spying on Hayate where they see him conquer another of his weakness of math. Nagi and Maria then spys on Hayate while preparing he was preparing a meal for Nagi and unknowingly talks to himself about more of Nagi’s preferences(weaknesses) and gets hammered on the head by Nagi.

Nagi then plots an attempts to dress as a ghost to scare Hayate but Maria closes the curtains to the windows and scares Nagi instead and out of nowhere, Sakuya jumps in and claims that she will find Hayate’s weaknesses. Out of nowhere again, appears Isumi and proposes to ask the person himself. Isumi goes an asks Hayate of what he fears and he said a cup of tea… Sakuya finishes him on the head with a bundle of paper. Sakuya asks Isumi of her fears and she said caterpillars(really was mothra that she is afraid of).

The scene then cuts to the part to where Nagi, Isumi and Sakuya just finishes their meal and Hayate said that he was going to study. Nagi goes and help Wataru with his study while Hayate asks Maria to help him with his studies. While studying, Maria talked about Wataru and Isumi skipping grades and why they were skipping grades. Hayate and Maria then brings coffee to Wataru and Nagi to check up on how they are doing but, they end up seeing Wataru holding holding Nagi by the wrist. Wataru tries to prove his innocents and said without thinking that he likes Isumi. Isumi for some reason was standing right behind Hayate and Maria and heard it. Wataru said it was a joke and gets smacked in the head by Sakuya. Hayate then mentions that he will leave them alone and continue to study with Maria which then lead Nagi getting pissed and chasing after him. Maria then sees that Hayate’s greatest weakness is not being able to understand a girl’s heart.
Thank you Kyon for this awesome summary

I doubt Hayate has any weakness at all – besides the thing where he’s weaker towards females and such. He was trained to be a butler and/or a thief, so that is what he had become. With the exception that he doesn’t steal (anymore). Klause being a douche fails at everything, I swear. I wonder how he was like, though, in the past. They claimed that Klause was a butler of high status and power, but now he’s like… a clown. And we all know clowns who can’t do crap but be a maid should NOT be the head butler – unless he can iron newspaper. Oh wait, he can! He passes.

I’m starting to wonder: Besides Comedy, what are other genres for Hayate no Gotoku? I mean seriously, it doesn’t seem to be a romance Anime. Just a joke one. I’m sorry if I’m the type who thinks “All Romance Animes must have some kissing in it”, but yea – it’s just confusing for me. It literally made me almost think that Sakuya likes Wataru. Maybe she actually does, who knows. What confused me even further was that Hayate showed affection to Maria, but was peeved at the sight that Nagi was holding Wataru’s hand. Maybe it was because he SAW her as a little sister and was over protective of her.

I’ve been too preoccupied with school life, Manga, and etc.
