Announcement: Recruiting Bloggers

Seriously, I never thought I would have to actually make a post dedicated to this, but school is harsh for me and so is time. So far the bloggers I’ve recruited are mainly real life friends and well, they also have a lot of trouble with school and such. My time is currently growing smaller and smaller so I can’t do everything I planned to do […]

Code Geass: All Hail Britannia!!! [Song]

Posted by Aizen on September 30th, 2008 at 3:35 PM

All Hail Britannia!!! - Nakagawa Kotaro

Quote:
Truth and hope in our Fatherland!
And death to every foe!
Our soldiers shall not pause to rest
We vow our loyalty

Old traditions they will abide
Arise young heroes!
Our past inspires noble deeds
All Hail Britannia!

Immortal beacon shows the way
Step forth, seek glory!
Hoist your swords high into the clouds
Hail Britannia!

Our Emperor stands astride this world
He’ll vanquish every foe!
His truth and justice shine so bright
All hail his brilliant light!

Never will he be overthrown
Like mountains and sea
His bloodline immortal and pure
All Hail Britannia!

So let his wisdom guide our way
Go forth and seek glory
Hoist your swords high into the clouds
Hail Britannia!

This is probably the last Code Geass song I’m going to share. For some reason, I like this song. It sounds like… some sort of opera thing to me. This song was pretty much played whenever Charles appeared in front of his army and also when the Emperor of Britannia (including Lelouch) overwhelmed everyone with his… Britannia forces.

I’m not sure if anyone knows, but I’ve finished both Code Geass 1 and 2 (but not blogged… though, someone can join with me and do it) and haven’t given it a review. So here’s my thoughts on Code Geass:

Season 1 rating: 10/10
Season 2 rating: 9/10 (Leaving it a 10 in my anime list)
Season 1 + Season 2 combined ratings: 9.5/10

The first season was always full of surprises and same goes for the second. It has an average amount of Mecha battles, which I don’t really like (Mecha stuff isn’t really my thing). What I did like about it was that it kind of reminded me of Death Note; Lelouch was “Kira” in the beginning but became “L” in the end. Both Season 1 and Season 2 had endings which I didn’t like, but season 1’s ending made more sense and pretty much brought into a conclusion of “Lelouch is dead” to me. Season 2, on the other hand, ended really quickly with innuendos that Lelouch is alive, similar to that of Elfen Lied.

Season one to probably more than half of Season two showed the cruel side of Lelouch - the “Kira” side of him. Strangely enough that “Kira” existence was replaced with “L”’s existence, but the face of Kira was fully worn; Lelouch became an infamous being who scared the shite out of anyone who threatened him. Seriously, I thought Lelouch would have back stabbed Suzaku in the end as he’s a guy who couldn’t really be trusted. Maybe the World of C really did change his view in life. One thing I’m still wondering is if Charles and Marianne is still in existence (as spirits or not).
