I felt that if I were to summarize this episode with a whole blotch of text, it wouldn’t really point out the important things which happened. Trust me, besides what I described above there was only repetitious talking and cheering for Taiga. Plus a masochistic Ami. Though, Ami wasn’t trying to be mean to Taiga or anything like that in this episode.
When Taiga wanted to smell nice for father, I immediately thought: Oh god, not another Asuna (Negima!) as she likes older people. But then again it would be incest. Doubt anyone would root for this. When Taiga blackmailed Ami, I totally laughed at the way she did it. It was so blatant and reminded me of when Haruhi made those computer nerds touch Mikuru’s bewbs just so that she could get some nice computers.
When I first saw this episode, I didn’t think about how Taiga’s father acted. I thought the same way Takasu did - with ignorance. What I should have noticed was that her father was a shell of an adult with a spoiled brat inside. He deserves to be kicked in the balls by everyone in the series, in fact. I’m calling her father a dumbass because Taiga KICKED him in the BALLS. Seriously, you’re going to hug someone who did that crap to you? Unless he has a damn good pedophilic reason, I’m calling him a dumbass.
After seeing this episode, I really couldn’t think of Minori the same as I did before. I thought she was some sort of airhead who was really afraid of extraterrestrial happenings. She surprised me further by showing me that she understands a situation more than others may think and is also a great actor.
One sentence summary: During a classic beach episode, Ryuuji temporarily becomes a sadistic Ami’s accidental pervert, cooks a feast for our quintet of shenanigans, and, amidst a well executed sentimental moment, subtly confronts Minorin about her love life, the answer of which - that she has never loved anyone but thinks her future promises romance - gives us a better look into their character, the resulting situation being Taiga’s acknowledging that she is very comfortable with Ryuuji, all Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu-esque mystery cliffhangers notwithstanding.

Well, lelangir blogged about episode 9 so I’ll quickly try and fill in the space of episode 8 (Though, if you want to blog your own episode 8 of Toradora that’s OK as well).
It’s interesting to see Tiger flustering and fidgeting whenever she’s around Kitamaru but totally calm and serious with Takasu. Plus, Takasu always tries to find ways to be with Tiger and please her. Maybe he has a lolita complex, I don’t know.
One new Japanese word I learned was “Oppai”. Oppai means boobs, I believe. Well, this whole episode was about Tiger’s boobs. She has none and because of that she feels extremely ashamed. I don’t blame her; normal people would feel a bit traumatized from past experiences of having some sort of “abnormality” in their body. It’s just funny that she takes it VERY seriously.
Remember kids, no oppai is no life >:D
You know what, I take back all I said about Ami’s {female doginess}. I can understand why she does all this crap and really, I think she should have called the police to capture this idiot (the stalker). I’m starting to like the dark side of her because it’s her real, truthful self.

You know, I don’t get why anyone would get so flustered up just because the person they think they like grabbed a hold of them. Throughout my whole life I’ve never seen a single girl who acted tsundere at all. In fact, they’re more yandere/plain normal if you ask me.
