Being an Otaku Sucks #1 – Otakus are Perverts
Sometimes people in an Anime/Manga are total perverts.
When Hachibana’s a pervert, all the chicks love him. Hell, there are too many Anime in which a person is a total pervert and the chicks dig him. Don’t get me wrong — I’m not hating on Hachibana. He’s the manliest man of all men that I’ve ever seen in any manly show.
Now, to me, an Otaku is someone who plays a lot of eroge and shit — even at school. If I were to be a pervert, I would be sued and even attacked by all the girls in my school just for staring at their breasts. Hell, if I were to show my stash of porno collection 2, the girls won’t be embarassed at it. In fact, they’ll even call the police/your parents/etc. to screw me over. They won’t “accept it” and walk away. Why be an Otaku when it’s so misleading?
And that’s why I’m only a borderline Otaku.

Boarderline Otaku is all right, but aren’t what you just labeled, a very narrow version of who Otaku’s are? There are so many fandoms, likes and dislikes… that ergo games and girls cover only a portion of the anime/manga lover crowd.
I think those of us in North America have a limited definition of what Otaku actually means.

I don’t think all otaku are pervents and only have eechi stuffs on their minds. Maybe that goes for moe, panties, loli, yaoi or yuri otakus but not every single and each one. But then again, the term otaku was originally meant to label reclusive fanatics (and so most of them are the above types). But I think types of otaku now vary and not all are negative. But then again, everything should be in moderation! ^^
Pfft. The manliest man of all men in any manly show is Kamina from TTGL. His manly badassery blows all other claims to manliness away in a gigantic manly explosion of pure manliness.
